Who We Are
Project Loving Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women diagnosed with cancer. We are an advocate for the Women’s Cancer Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides direct services to women with any type of cancer, background, economic ability, and ethnicity. 80% of their clients have low income and 67% are people of color. They serve more than 2000 people annually. All programs and services are free.
The Women’s Cancer Resource Center also helps individuals with cancer improve their quality of life through education, supportive services, and practical assistance. They help individuals from various backgrounds and cultures navigate through the often overwhelming health care system to get the appropriate care and treatment they need.
What We Do
Our mission is dedicated to helping ensure that all people impacted by cancer get the appropriate care and treatment they need.
Over the past twelve years, we have hosted a Fundraiser Gala and Luncheon celebrating cancer survivors and have donated over $70,000 to the Women’s Cancer Resource Center’s Sister to Sister program. Specifically, the funds we raise will support the Sister to Sister program. This program offers biweekly support groups, cancer education workshops, wellness programs, and community outreach for African American/Black women who are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer at a younger age and later stage. We also tend to have more aggressive forms of the disease.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 for the event and we need your support. Donations of any size are welcome. Please make checks payable to Project Loving Life and mail to P.O. Box 18876, Oakland, CA 94619 or you can donate on our website page. All donations are tax deductible. Please contact Bobbie Wakefield at 510-562-9115 with any questions.
Save The Date: Register here for our 14th Annual Gala and Luncheon Celebrating Cancer Survivors on October 12, 2024.
The funds we raise will be granted to the Women’s Cancer Resource Center.
Each gift makes a difference to improving the lives of cancer survivors.
